Dr. Tommy CY Chan is a Specialist in Ophthalmology at the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. He is a Clinical Associate Professor (Honorary) at the University of Hong Kong and Honorary Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Honorary Associate Consultant at the Hong Kong Eye Hospital.

His special interests include corneal refractive procedures, cataract surgery, keratoconus management and anterior segment imaging. He was elected as the Distinguished Young Fellow of the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong in 2016. His team won the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons Film Festival Award in 2017. He was awarded the APAO Achievement Award and the Japanese Ophthalmological Society International Young Investigator Award in 2018.

He is currently the Chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Societies for Prevention of Blindness, Treasurer of the Asia-Pacific Ocular Imaging Society, Honorary Secretary of the Hong Kong Ophthalmological Society and Director of the CUHK Jockey Club Ophthalmic Microsurgical Training Programme for cataract and refractive surgeries. He has published over 130 journal articles and book chapters, and has delivered over 100 talks locally and internationally.
